Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study of Ar/CH4 Coaxial DBD Discharge Characteristics

This paper established a one-dimensional model of coaxial dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) with single layer covering the high-voltage electrode. The mixture Ar and small amount CH4 was used as working gas, influence different voltage amplitude on characteristics studied by 10.0 kHz microsecond pulsed power. simulation results show that current curve presents bipolar intensities are generated in pulse period, primary is much intense. current, power can enhance increasing amplitude. equivalent capacitance Cg also increases, has no significant effect Cd. In experiment, it be observed number filaments gap increases increase amplitude, photoionization formed near anode. result experimental trend almost same simulated current.
